TSD Combat Systems Universal Fighting Knife
We have always been strong advocates of the bowie-style knife as the single most useful and deadly knives on earth. Finding that we had some very specific "wants" in such a knife, we simply decided to make our own. Enter the Universal Fighting Knife. This clip point Bowie style knife is made out of 01 Tool Steel. It is as tough as a knife can be and keeps a very keen edge. As well, being tool steel, it can be easily sharpened in the field with any sort of stone or device.
It is 1/4" in thickness, 11 3/4" overall length, and sports an extremely sharp 1" wide, 7" blade. The knife is finished in black oxide and has black grooved aluminum scales. This design will not only be strong in the grip, but it is easily disassembled and cleaned of any blood borne pathogens in the field.
The knife is sheathed in a custom concealex sheath produced for us by Blade-Tech. The sheath will accept any of the various Blade-Tech attaching mechanisms. Here is a comment from one of our staff when he handled the first production UFK.
I had a chance to handle one of these at S.I. HQ over the weekend. The big thing was the way it balances, from the moment I picked it up it was just perfect. The knife felt like an extension of my arm. The blade and scales were the high quality I would expect based on the Grab-N-Stab. This is really going to be a good one.
