LAS22: Combative Perspective
It came in the mail yesterday and I have read it through twice already. It is definitely a must for anyone who refuses to be a victim and will not allow the forces of evil to harm their family. I'm going to order several more copies to give away as presents to friends.I like that Gabe pulls no punches, he lays it all on the table. Too many "e;experts"e; are afraid to focus on the core realitites of this subject. Excellent work Gabe!
Chicago :It's the best book on the subject I have ever read, and I have read several such books.
Dave in PA: I have read and re-read that book myself. It's clearly one of the great reads about mindset instead of gear. I have loaned my copy to others and it has started some very good conversations. This book should be read by all who even consider training for self protection.
michael :It is destined to be a classic, and should be required reading for anyone serious about self-defense and mindset.
Liberty or Death: Over the weekend, I had the unexpected pleasure/privelege of meeting Marc MacYoung at a gun show. When the subject of The Combative Perspective came up ( he was selling copies at his table which he assured me only sold info that he was willing to stake his life on) he had nothing but high praise for it. He told me , in no uncertain terms, that he could write volumes on why the stuff in TCP was so 100% spot on but beyond the book's contents he also thought that what made it a great read was Gabe's writing/instruction style. According to Animal, what really set this book apart was Gabe's ability to break down his explanations into easily understood concepts/principles and place them into their proper context.
Glenn Matthews: If you'll take Col. Jeff Cooper's "e;Principles of Self-Defense"e; and Gabe's "e;The Combat Perspective"e; together, you'll have the definitive works on the combative mindset. In my opinion, anything, on the subject, beyond those two books has to be redundant.
The Searcher: The Combative Perspective is the best self defense book I've ever read. You can fill your shelves with endless tomes by various "e;grip and stance"e; gurus. Only the Combative Perspective tells you the ugly reality of what sort of creature you are up against.
